Nowadays, it is increasingly rare to see consistent projects, not intended to serve commercial purposes, but simply aiming at making good music. Ginette Claudette, who is known for have written the Brandy song “No Such a Thing As Too Late “ and who made such a good mixtape in 2012, however delights us with her amazing first album “Tainted Emotions”.

Written entirely by the young lady and produced with the help of one of her friends, August Rigo, the singer restores Rhythm and Blues that we love to its former glory. As she points out on her Twitter page, “R&BIsNotDead”, and this first project, available since 25th February, is here to prove it to those who still don’t believe in.

Her voice is an absolute delight, a heavenly gift midway between Brandy’s timbre and Jojo’s one, and she knows how to use it. Like her cover and her lead single “Tainted Emotions” claims to be plain, even minimalist when it comes to productions and smooth when it comes to harmonies. No shout, no useless flight, emotions are wonderfully under control and tamed, so that we only can get down to basics.

As a result, it is about an album that we need to have. We just need to go to the record shop and to hold it very tight. Of course, there are some tracks that stand out such as the delightful “Power”, the hypnotic “More”, or again “Better Love” where she joins Rico Love… but these tracks are not so much superior to the rest of the album, and above all, the whole album glows so brightly that we just can’t dispense with the pleasure to get the opus. It is just like a Charmbracelet, everything matches so well, without ever revolutionizing the industry. She is just doing her job extremely well, and this only at the age of 23. There is an amount of singers, who are more experienced and who have more means, that have never produced a piece of work that would reach such a quality.

Il est de plus en plus rare d’avoir des projets cohérents, travaillés sans objectifs commerciaux mais avec la simple ambition de faire de la bonne musique. Ginette Claudette qu’on connaît notamment parce qu’elle avait écrit la chanson «  No Such a Thing As Too Late » de Brandy et qu’elle a pondu une très bonne mixtape en 2012 nous enchante cependant avec son délice de premier album «  Tainted Emotions ».

Entièrement rédigé par la jeune fille et produit par l’un de ses talentueux amis August Rigo, la chanteuse redonne ses lettres de noblesse au rythme and blues qu’on affectionne. Comme elle l’affiche sur sa page Twitter » R&bisnotdead » et ce premier projet disponible depuis le 25 Fevrier est là pour le prouver à ceux qui en douteraient encore.

Sa voix est un pur bonheur, un don du ciel à mi chemin entre le timbre de Brandy et celui de Jojo et elle s’en servir. A l’image de sa pochette et de son titre, « Tainted Emotions » se veut, sobre, voir minimalisme au niveau des productions et soyeux du coté des harmonies. Pas de cris, pas d’envolées inutiles, les sensations sont à merveille contrôlées, apprivoisées pour qu’on ne puisse en tirer que l’essentiel.

Du coup, c’est un album qu’on a envie d’avoir. On a envie d’aller à la fnac et le tenir dans ses bras très fort. Il y a bien sur a des chansons qui se détache quelque fois plus que d’autres, le ravissant « Power », l’hypnotique « More » ou encore « Better Love » où elle rejoint Rico Love…. mais elles ne sont pas tant que ça supérieures à la moyenne et puis surtout, le tout rayonne trop superbement bien ensemble pour qu’on se prive du plaisir d’avoir l’opus . Tout s’enchaîne parfaitement, et ce sans jamais rien révolutionner. Elle fait juste merveilleusement bien son boulot  et ce à seulement 23ans. Il y a tout un tas de chanteuses avec plus d’années de carrière et  de moyens qui n’ont jamais pu produire un travail approchant une telle qualité. Un Bravo s’impose.
