La plus belle chose, c’est d’abord Anita Baker qui fait une entrée folle à la 61eme place. Elle reste un poids lourd dans les radios malgré ses absences et ça fait plaisir. J’espere que ” Lately” fera un top 15. De l’autre coté, Mariah Carey, elle est plus timide avec un debut à la 97eme place et ce malgré le soutien de 2 des plus gros rappeurs R&B. C’est médiocre, à l’image des scores I-tunes de la chanson mais tout n’est pas perdu, elle peut encore se rattraper même si le top 10 risque d’être vraiment difficile, compte tenu des critiques sur son manque de présence sur sa propre chanson.
R.Kelly montre qu’il reste un monstre dans le domaine, avec 1 single officiel “Feeling Single” et un titre album ( Greenlight) deja bien diffusés en radios avant même l’envoie officiel. Une très bonne semaine pour lui.
Ensuite ” Ice” de Kelly Rowland prend son envol avec 24 places d’englouties cette semaine. Les radios semblent avoir eu un coup de pouce avec la seconde version malgré les débuts un peu poussifs.
Elle Varner porte son 3eme single ” I Don’t Care” à la 69eme place tandis que 50 cent et Alicia Keys engloutissent 10 places au nom d’un nouveau jour.
Tamia se fait la jolie surprise de grimper dans le top 40 et Anthony Hamilton chancelle avec “Pray For Me” aux portes du Top 20.
Ce n’est pas le cas de Brandy qui classe ” Put It Down” 23eme avec 7 places en plus. Le titre est entrain de devenir ce pour quoi il a été crée, à savoir son plus gros succès dans le format depuis 2004-2002. Il est au même niveau que “ Right Here” et “ It All Belongs To Me” et ce sans aucune vidéo. La semaine prochaine, on devrait le retrouver aux alentours de la 16eme place. C’était à ce niveau là qu’avait péaké ” Talk About Our Love”. C’était à ça que servait la chanson, réconcilier Brandy avec les radios R&b, sa base qui la boudent depuis 2002. Paradoxalement, s’ils arrivent à en faire un top 10, il faudra essayer de trouver le moyen de convaincre son public plus mainstream pop. Chose qui sera intéressante à observer.
Une seule place de prise pour “ Enough Of No Love” de Miss Keyshia Cole mais elle reste bien parti pour aller taquiner le top 3, accompagné de Miguel, 11eme affamé avec son ” Adorn”.
